“Suzanne’s coaching during labor was invaluable. Her soothing words and practical advice were perfectly timed and helped me stay focused and grounded throughout the process. I trusted her more than anyone else in that room, and her presence made all the difference.“

Why Hire a Doula?

From where you’re sitting now, it might be hard to envision the day your baby arrives and your family grows.

The journey to parenthood is full of twists and turns, from the very start through delivery and beyond.

A doula is the perfect person to guide you through this journey!

You receive support from the moment you hire me, extending through the postpartum period. I work with a team of doulas, ensuring you always have access to someone who can answer questions, offer reassurance, and provide the resources you need.

You can rest easy knowing that you will have consistent, high-quality support during your birth, whenever you need it and for as long as you need it.

From Start to Finish:

Your Guide to Working with Me

1. Birth Preparation

We’ll meet 1-2 times during your pregnancy: once at your home around 34 weeks and again via Zoom when you’re ready for a check-in. These meetings are an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your desires, concerns, and preferences, and address your partner’s needs as well (as I am here for them just as much as for you). We’ll review your birthing plan, discuss positions, pain management strategies, feeding support, and any other questions you may have. If you have concerns, we’ll explore them and consider possible scenarios to help you achieve the best birth experience possible. During this time, you’ll also have the chance to meet one of my partner doulas.

2. Answering Your Questions

Daytime Zoom calls, phone calls, or texts are available outside of our scheduled visits for any concerns or questions you may have. During these times, I offer emotional and informational support. No question is too trivial—I’m here because I love what I do, and you are never a bother!

3. Continuous Labor Support

When your labor begins and you’re ready, I will join you at your home, birthing center, or hospital. There is no hourly limit to my support, so you can focus on your labor without worrying about time constraints. If you are being induced or having a cesarean, I will be there to support you through those processes as well.

During labor, I provide emotional, informational, and physical support. I’m here to remind you of your choices, ensure your voice is heard, and reinforce your strength. I will also offer your partner suggestions for how they can support you and provide them with breaks when needed. My support is adaptable to your needs and feelings, helping with pain management, baby positioning, and any other aspects of your labor experience.

4. Post-Birth Care

After your baby is born, I will stay with you for a couple of hours to ensure that feeding is going smoothly, that you are well-supported, and to assist with any needs you may have. I’ll follow up the next day and remain available via text or phone for any postpartum questions you might have.

5. Postpartum Transitions

In the weeks following your birth, we’ll meet one to two times to address any questions, discuss your birth experience, and offer support or guidance as needed. I will provide feeding support or referrals if necessary. We are available for continued support during the day via text or phone call. If booked in advance, our team can also offer 4-8 hours of additional day or night support.

6. Ongoing Support

Our relationship doesn’t end unless you want it to. I’m here to provide ongoing support if you need extra help with feeding, sleeping, or any other aspect of parenting. You’re not alone on this journey—you’ve hired someone who values continuity of care, even months after birth. You’ll always be a part of our doula family. We look forward to seeing you at picnics and events, and we love receiving updates on how your family is doing.
